Approaches to English Grammar

A course designed primarily to help education majors translate between the languages of conventional grammar and the syntactical grammar relevant to the teaching of English at Precollege levels. Consideration will also be given to the rationales basic to the formation of different grammars and to methods of presenting grammatical material in a classroom situation. Non-education majors interested in a sophisticated approach to the study of grammar might also benefit from this course.
