An overview of substance and behavioral addictions; models, theories, assessment, and treatment of addictive behaviors are explored. Interviewing skills that assess the severity of addiction and the receptiveness to treatment will be reviewed and practiced. Effective recovery and relapse prevention programs will be considered.
