Multicultural Issues of Teaching ESOL

This course provides candidates with the knowledge and understanding of language acquisition and development, the nature and role of culture and cultural groups to construct learning environments that support the cultural identities, language and literacy development, and content- area achievement of English Language Learners. Students will also gain knowledge of how cultural identities, both group and individual, affect language learning and school achievement.
