Introduction to Literary Studies

Course Description: This course introduces English Option 1 Literature majors to the methods and techniques used in the study of literature, with an emphasis on literary terminology, criticism, analysis, interpretation, writing, and research. Course readings will include selections of poetry, drama, prose, and works of literary criticism. Career and graduate school pathways will also be covered. Course may include instructor-student conferences to review students' analytical or research papers.
