Introduction to Professional Writing

This course serves as an introduction to the field of professional writing, focusing on the many different types of writing and the specific requirements for each - technical, creative, multimodal, etc. Professional writers are particularly aware of the relationships between purpose and audience found in various rhetorical situations, and this course examines the theory informing the negotiation of composing effective professional written work. Offered fall and spring semesters.
