Identification and application of engineering principles to the analysis and development of processes using biological molecules including enzymes, whole plant or animal cells. Understand and identify characteristics of separation processes for thermally sensitive products such as proteins, DNA, RNA and plasmids. The objective will be to examine practical and relevant engineering applications from current practice - including the use of process simulators for optimization.
