History of Modern Germany

An examination of the principal interactions between society, politics, and culture that have shaped modern Germany in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Emphasis will be given to an analysis of the fragile democracy of the Weimar Republic, the rise of the Nazi Party and the nature of Hitler's Third Reich, and the history of the two Germany's through to the fall of the Berlin Wall.
