Introduction to Partial Differential Equations I

This is the first of two courses in the PDE sequence. Topics include integral curves and surfaces of vector fields, quasi-linear and linear equations of first order, series solutions of the Cauchy-Kovalesky theorem, and characteristics and canonical forms of linear partial differential equations.
