A licensed Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic is a trained person who responds to emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured, stabilizes patients, and transports them to a medical facility. A career ladder in Emergency Medical Technology has been established which would enable the student to stop at any level with job skills or progress to the associate degree as a Paramedic.
