The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) offers an alternative pathway to Arkansas teacher licensure for those with a bachelor's degree who wish to pursue teaching. The degree provides professional knowledge, skills, and dispositions through coursework and a year-long teaching residency. Candidates may pursue licensure in Elementary K-6, Middle Childhood 4-8, Secondary 4-12, Secondary 7-12, and Broad Range K-12 content areas. The MAT consists of 36 credit hours in a hybrid model.
