Introductory Sociology

Sociology is the scientific study of social behavior and social phenomena. This course is a survey intended to introduce students to the major concepts, issues, theory, methods and substantive findings of the discipline. Topics may include the impact of social structures on behavior and opportunity, inequalities, socialization, culture, religion, crime and deviance, the family, modernity, and globalization.
