Course topics include: the evolution of work, the meaning of work, the demography of work, unions, jobs, occupations, professions, industries, classes, unions, technology and alienation, labor market segmentation, nonstandard and contingent work, work and the family, work and economic inequality, job satisfaction and organizational commitment.
